The Busiest Week of Our God Damned Lives
We haven’t posted for a bit, and I don’t think Lottie is going to manage a sprint update this week unless she works over the weekend which she definitely ain’t doing, so I wanted to talk about what’s been happening. It’s a lot.
Splash Damage – Women in Games Event
Thank you again Splash Damage for hosting this and for the million bottles of prosecco. BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE PROSECCO!
Marketing Hot take: The value of community.
The merits of community to the success of any art project – especially in the indie space – are obvious. This post is meant for anyone that would like some general insight into what I believe are the intentions needed when creating a community for your game. I apologise in advance for how many times I say “community”. I’d replace that with “cults” but we don’t...
MAR #1: EDWIN DROOD
Next sprint’s a bit of a squib for Alexis and myself, who are off to GDC for a week of dev talks, dev meets and definitely no alcohol whatsoever. Claire will be holding down the fort in our absence so ALL OF YOU BEHAVE YOURSELVES. ‘Til next time!
FEB #2: DORIAN
These’ll come out at the same time at the end of May, as part of our ‘Cultist Simulator Is One Year Old OMG UWU’ celebrations. Perpetual Edition owners will, of course, get both DLCs for free, and we’ll post more details about the Legacies as we get through ’em.
Enigma: what it is, what it isn’t
This is an unusually straightforward post on a subject I am usually very coy about. Please feel free to link to it if you ever think anyone will find it useful.
FEB #1: CARMILLA
I will leave you with the only assets I can reasonably share without revealing TOO MUCH:
JAN #2: BELLE DAME
In the meantime, we’ve a jazzy 25% sale off on Cultist across Steam, Humble and GOG, and those new Apostle Legacies are waiting for ya whenever you feel a surge of masochism coming on. As ever, sales tend to punch our reviews in the face, so if you have an inkling of joy in your heart for the Wood, the House and the Dawn…
DEC #1: YOG-SOTHOTH
MERRY CHRIMBLETIDE, BELIEVERS! This is your final culty stop before 2019, the year in which the original Blade Runner was set. Where the HECK are my neo-noir Rachael outfits, eh? Or at least the triumphant return of shoulder pads?!
NOV #2: XEXANOTH
I’m off to run this month’s Coven Club, so wish me luck in a room full of nice ladydevs with cake and prosecco. ‘Til next time!
THE MERCH BLOG: PART THE FIRST
If you’re an indie and have questions about setting up your own store, ping me in the comments here, or on Twitter. And of course, if you ain’t bought it yet…
NOV #1: WHARTON
Happy not really anything month, everyone! We’ve had a v busy sprint (the most important part being I met Stacey Dooley at the BAFTA Breakthrough Brits party, obvs), so let’s get down to it.
OCT #1: UNDINE
Thanks for being such a wonderful, wonderful community, believers. I’m so proud of y’all being so smart and nice and interesting and we both love you v much. ‘Til next time. ♥
September #1: ROSSETTI
MAYBE A PUBLIC ALPHA OF BOOK OF HOURS?! Also, our August newsletter goes out.
August #1: Porphyria
Aaaaanyway, next sprint we may have some more Cultist-specific updates for you. But I already have two draft posts lined up for posting next week, so… stay tuned. 😀
Cultist Simulator: the retrospective
Oh, and if you haven’t already… getchyo hands on the game below! 😀
April #1: HOPKINS
Anyway, next sprint should be slightly less bonkers, so we hope to actually get some work done. Well, some more work than multiple daily patches and new art and important marketing events and oh you know. This and that.
March #3: GWENDOLEN
This sprint’s title comes from my favourite literary lady, Gwendolen Harleth in George Eliot’s Daniel Deronda. That’s a lot of names to open this blog with, but we did a lot of things, sooooo…
